Growing up in South Texas, I never imagined that a simple idea would become the foundation of a business.

As a single mother, former art teacher, and entrepreneur, I have learned that growth rarely comes from waiting for opportunities—it comes from creating them.

That philosophy inspired the creation of the Game Day Guayabera.

I recognized an opportunity to connect a timeless and flattering style of men’s apparel with the pride, tradition, and loyalty people feel for their universities. By incorporating officially licensed collegiate branding into a classic guayabera design, I created a new way for alumni, students, parents, and fans to celebrate the schools they love.

What began as a single idea has grown into a distinctive brand with official licenses from Texas A&M University, The University of Texas, Texas Tech University, Texas Christian University, and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Today, Elizabeth James Collection designs and produces officially licensed collegiate guayaberas embroidered in South Texas and shipped to customers across the country.

The response has exceeded my expectations. Customers continue to request additional universities, new designs, and expanded collections. What started as a shirt has become a growing movement among fans who want a more polished and meaningful way to express school pride.

My vision is to build Elizabeth James Collection into a nationally recognized lifestyle brand while creating jobs and opportunities here in South Texas.
